R.G. Cruickshank

Chair of the Board

R.G. (Rob) Cruickshank brings a wealth of experience from his years in the BC technology industry. Most recently (2005-2007), Mr. Cruickshank served as President of the British Columbia Technology Industries Association (BCTIA), a not-for-profit, member-funded organization representing the broad technology industry across the province.

Prior to joining BCTIA, he had a long and successful career with TELUS/BCTEL serving in many executive roles including over four years as the President of BCTEL Mobility. He left BCTEL in 1999 when the organization merged with TELUS (Alberta), rejoined in 2001, and spent the next three years helping TELUS significantly improve its cost position and share price. Between 1999 and 2001 he served as President of Mobile Data Solutions Inc. (MDSI) an international software company specializing in workforce management and wireless data solutions. In 1992, he attended the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development.

Mr. Cruickshank currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Corpus Christi and St Mark's Colleges, Chair of the Board of Director's of St George's School, and as a member of the Board of the Canadian Association of Independent Schools (CAIS). Along with joining the Board of Carmanah Technologies he also serves on the Advisory Board of both AfterCAD Software Inc. and Nutri-Loc, two early stage technology companies.

Currently Rob enjoys a form of retirement splitting his time between his involvement in not-for-profit and for-profit Boards and spending time with his family. Mr. Cruickshank is married, has nine children, four grand children and is an active community advocate, supporting numerous charitable agencies and coaching athletics.

Ted Lattimore

Chief Executive Officer

Ted Lattimore joined Carmanah as Chief Executive Officer in October 2007. Mr. Lattimore brings more than 20 years of entrepreneurial and executive experience in the mobile telecommunications industry, beginning with his involvement in the launch of the industry in Canada in 1985, to most recently as the President and Chief Operating Officer for Vodafone Romania (formerly Connex - MobiFon, part of Montreal-based TIW), a subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc., the world's largest international mobile telecommunications group. His achievements with Connex - MobiFon / Vodafone include growing the company’s customer base from 700,000 to 5.5 million subscribers in six years.

At Connex - MobiFon, in the developing Eastern European country of Romania, Mr. Lattimore implemented a complete reorganization and financial focus of the company that resulted in uninterrupted customer and financial growth for the parent company, Canada's TIW, while concurrently improving employee and customer satisfaction. The company generated $286 million in shareholder dividends to year end 2004, sold a $225 million high-yield bond—the first ever in Romania—and managed a $300 million loan restructuring, the biggest private placement in Romanian history. The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development named it one of its top 10 investments of all time. Business Central Europe, a publication of The Economist, named it "Best Company in Romania" for three years in a row. Connex - MobiFon’s sale to Vodafone in 2005, the larger part of a US$4.5 billion transaction, was the largest corporate sale in Romania.

A native of Ontario, Canada, Mr. Lattimore earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, and completed executive finance training at the Harvard Business School.

Mr. Lattimore brings with him a history of delivering exceptional operational and organizational performance and company profitability in a rapidly growing, global technology industry.

Julian Elliott

Director

Mr. Elliott brings over 25 years of experience in building entrepreneurial organizations and commercializing technology in emerging markets. His broad range of experience includes CEO and executive chairman positions at start-up companies in Silicon Valley, as well as Vice President and General Manager of Agilent Technologies, a spin-off of Hewlett Packard. At Agilent/HP, he founded the company's storage networking products business, growing it from inception into a highly profitable division.

Mr. Elliott's domain experience encompasses systems, component, and optics technologies in a range of industries. He also brings operational expertise in technology financing, including venture capital and M & A activities with both private and public companies, and he has served on the boards and advisory panels of several venture-funded companies.

Mr. Elliott holds an undergraduate degree in Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

J. Robert Logan , MBA

Director

With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Logan brings a unique blend of capital markets and corporate finance insight to Carmanah's board. His financial knowledge and experience, gained mostly in New York, London and Toronto, includes senior roles at CIBC and Citigroup Global Markets, where as Managing Director he was responsible for the firm's Canadian fixed-income capital markets business.

During Mr. Logan's investment-banking career, he has worked on or led more than a 100 offerings, raising more than US$65 billion for a range of corporate, government and infrastructure clients. Mr. Logan is a specialist in financing growth initiatives, and his experience with capitalization and risk management decisions will be a valuable asset for Carmanah. Mr. Logan holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Robert D. Wiens , FCA

Director

Robert D. (Bob) Wiens is a director for corporate and non-profit entities. From 2002 to 2005, Bob was the Chief Financial Officer of D-Wave Systems, a developer of quantum information systems. From 1987 to 2000, he was the President and CEO of FACS Records Centre Inc., a TSX-listed income trust Prior to joining FACS, Mr. Wiens was with Arthur Andersen in New York City, Toronto, Ottawa (as managing partner) and Vancouver (as managing partner). A graduate of the University of Calgary (B.Comm) and Columbia University (MBA), Mr. Wiens holds a CA in B.C. and a CPA in New York State.
